It's tomorrow!

I'm off to the hospital first thing
The right knee
It's up for replacement

Need to choose to have it done
But it's major surgery
And a lot to get through

Also, not sure that they'll let me as my aneamia is again 9.2
But that's something to ask

I just want it either done or not at all!

Oh, and I've updated my blog www.4legsbetterthan2@wordpress.com

Mutter mutter,
Blooming awful day

No surgery as I'm not fit for major operation
I'm so anaemic and until this is sorted out
That's a no to knee

There's a lot of too-ing and fro-ing as they haven't struck me off the list and instead are going to try again to see me in 4-6 wks for a pre op again.
They've got this time to sort out whether I'm aneamic for a reason and sort out the reason.
The tummy (BBC and itv invasions!) haven't found an obvious cause
They took biopsies
But the result isn't back and the hospital and gp computers are not linked (computer says no!)

Very grumpy about the whole thing

I need to stay home for 12 wks post surgery
Which, if the timing is poor, will mean no August holiday.
Well!

They can just shove that idea !

I can't spend my life waiting for flipping medical appointments

Grrr

Fwiw we are driving to the vendee for 2 weeks with spring harvest holidays.
It looks lovely
And if I get my doggy helper, he/she can come along that wAy

I get really fed up with all this

Oh grrrrr. I feel so disappointed for you. You are such a cheery and positive person and I think you're entitled to have a bit of a moan over this. I am borderline anaemic and often wonder if it's to do with the RA. Obviously iron pills are not the simple answer or you would have done this already. Here's hoping that your levels improve and you can go ahead with the surgery soon. As for that holiday....I think you need and deserve one and it's something nice to keep you going......so go for it whatever. XXX

Oh Jenni that's so disappointing, can't they give you some bags of blood to get your haemoglobin levels up, so then you can have the op, I had this done with my right knee replacement.

It's so frustrating!!!!

Hi Jenni - also a grrr from me too!! Sooo frustrating having to wait and wait, but definitely go for a holiday - the Vendee is lovely. We went there in 2007 and stayed at the Le Pin Parasol, Lac du Jaunay, Vendee. It was a eurocamp mobile home - really nice. Well I've been to several of those campsites over the years and they have all been great - so much better than the campsites in England. There's always a nice bit of space around the chalet or tent so you don't feel hemmed in, and some of them have a veranda with a table for eating outdoors - and of course there's always at least one pool, so it's perfect for families. One piece of advice - take a windbreak - the beaches are open to the Atlantic coast so get a bit breezy. Have you been to Brittany? It's not quite so far to drive and the beaches are a little more sheltered as they face the English Channel - but both areas are lovely. Book early as the really popular sites do get booked up. I also enjoyed the Doidogne - we went there 2 years running, but it's probably too far to drive - we flew from Exeter - no beaches but a huge river with canoes and stuff like that - probably more suited to older kids though thinking about it.

Oh yes - eat lots of cabbage and liver - good for your iron levels!! (Tee hee, not really serious). But this is a serious thought - have they checked out woman's issues? Heavy months and the like can reek havoc with your haemoglobin - hope you get some relief soon.

Love and higs - Sylvia xx

Oh Jenni, what can I say? You seem to have gone two steps forward and then three backwards, operation cancelled and finding out that you are now anemic. Just feel so sorry for you and sending you cyber hugs.

It's just such a shame that this wasn't found out before you got your hopes up about the operation, but, what ever will be, will be and there is nothing that can be done about it all at the moment. Must be so frustrating for you though.

Read your last post and you still have your wonderful sense of humour, which I am sure in past as helped you get through these set backs.

Hope things aren't too bad for you at the moment.

Take Care

Love Paula x
